The Service Leader–Engineering (Storekeeper) supports the engineering department by receiving, checking, organizing, and issuing tools, spare parts, equipment, and maintenance supplies. Candidates typically need relevant storekeeping or engineering-support experience, good inventory-control skills, basic computer knowledge, and familiarity with maintenance materials. Hotel or resort experience is an advantage. The successful candidate should be organized, physically fit, detail-oriented, honest, and able to maintain accurate stock records. The role also requires coordinating with engineers and suppliers, monitoring minimum stock levels, keeping the storeroom safe and orderly, and following Shangri-La’s service, safety, purchasing, and environmental standards. Flexibility for shifts, weekends, and public holidays is normally expected.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognized for high-quality hotels, resorts, and serviced residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its properties are known for warm Asian hospitality, comfortable accommodation, extensive dining, wellness facilities, and professional guest services. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates established city and resort properties, including destinations in Manila and other major tourism areas. The company employs teams across hotel operations, engineering, food and beverage, housekeeping, finance, sales, and guest services. Staff are generally expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, cultural awareness, safety consciousness, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. Benefits may include meals, uniforms, training, service charge, medical coverage, and employee accommodation or transport, depending on the property and employment contract.
The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other resort destinations, with demand for engineering, maintenance, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest-service staff. Filipino workplace culture is generally friendly, cooperative, and respectful of seniority. Resort life can be relaxed and community-oriented, although island locations may have higher prices, fewer specialist services, and limited transport. Employees should be prepared for tropical heat, rainy seasons, and occasional typhoons. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with Philippine immigration authorities. Relocating staff should check accommodation, transport, medical access, insurance, salary deductions, and contract benefits before accepting an offer. English is widely used in hotels, while learning basic Filipino phrases can help with daily life and workplace relationships.
