Shangri-La places importance on guest satisfaction, colleague development, ethical conduct, safety and operational excellence. Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, tourism, restaurants, finance, retail, technology, logistics and professional services. Security professionals can find roles in hotels, shopping centres, offices, hospitals, transport hubs and major events. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, efficient public services and a fast-paced working style. Lifestyle options range from dense urban districts and excellent dining to hiking trails, beaches and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live in areas connected by the MTR. Foreign nationals generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer usually sponsors the application and must demonstrate a genuine role and suitable salary. Applicants should prepare qualifications, employment references and a valid passport. Cantonese is valuable, while English is widely used in business and hospitality. Relocation planning should include housing, healthcare, transport, tax and dependants’ arrangements.
