Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company with hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Founded in 1971, the group is known for its Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts brand, as well as properties operating under brands such as Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders. Its hotels generally focus on personalised service, premium accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness and leisure experiences. The company serves business and leisure travellers and operates in major cities, resort destinations and gateway locations. A role in digital acquisition supports the group’s commercial growth by attracting new guests, strengthening direct online bookings, improving brand visibility and using customer and campaign data to increase marketing effectiveness across its global portfolio.
Hong Kong is a compact, international city with a dramatic harbour, dense urban districts and easy access to hiking trails, beaches and outlying islands. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, retail, marketing and digital commerce, with many regional headquarters based there. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences; English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is valuable for daily life. The lifestyle is energetic, convenient and food-focused, though accommodation can be expensive and apartments are often small. Overseas professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by a local employer, with eligibility based on qualifications, experience and a confirmed offer. Employers commonly assist with visa paperwork, but candidates should confirm taxation, medical coverage and relocation support. Public transport is excellent, and living near an MTR station is usually practical.
