Working in Indonesia

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other resort destinations. Bali has the largest international tourism market, with jobs in hotels, villas, restaurants, wellness and guest services; Jakarta and Surabaya provide broader corporate and city-hotel opportunities. The culture values respect, friendliness, modesty and strong community relationships. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to beach, nature and island communities, although traffic and seasonal tourism can affect daily life. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay work visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with immigration, accommodation, meals, transport or insurance, but arrangements should be confirmed in writing. Costs vary significantly by island, and applicants should verify salary, service charge, housing, contract terms and relocation support before accepting an offer.
