The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, high guest-service standards and extensive facilities such as restaurants, spas, meeting venues and leisure activities. In Malaysia, Shangri-La properties include city hotels and resort destinations, employing teams across rooms, food and beverage, engineering, wellness and guest services. Malaysia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail and related service industries, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other coastal destinations. Resort-island work can provide a relaxed lifestyle, outdoor activities, beaches and multicultural communities, although accommodation and transport may be limited outside main towns. Malaysian culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with Islam widely practiced and respectful dress and behavior expected. English is common in tourism, while Malay is the national language. Foreign workers generally need an employment pass or relevant work permit arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements depend on nationality and position. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, medical coverage, service charges, contract terms and relocation costs before accepting an offer.
