Working in Indonesia

Indonesia is an archipelago with opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other resort destinations. Hospitality jobs are concentrated in Bali and Jakarta, while tourism roles are also available in beach resorts, diving destinations and remote islands. Bali offers an international lifestyle, strong tourism infrastructure and a blend of Hindu traditions, ceremonies, arts and outdoor activities. Jakarta is more urban and business-focused, with heavier traffic and a faster pace. Living costs vary considerably; accommodation near major resorts can be expensive, while local food and transport are generally affordable. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work and stay permit, such as a work KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, taxes and relocation support directly with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
