About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong and known for its hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and North America. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN, and Traders brands. Shangri-La properties are recognized for warm Asian hospitality, comfortable accommodation, extensive dining, wellness facilities, and service-focused guest experiences. In the Philippines, the group operates well-known properties in destinations such as Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. Employees generally work in structured hotel departments and receive exposure to international service standards, guest relations, reservations, food and beverage, and resort operations. The company commonly looks for people who are professional, courteous, culturally aware, dependable, and committed to creating personalized experiences for guests.

Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other resort islands, particularly in reservations, front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, and tourism operations. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by regional traditions, Spanish history, and contemporary Asian life. English is widely used in business and hotels, although learning basic Filipino or local expressions helps build rapport. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities; costs are generally lower than in many international destinations, though popular resorts can be expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly involving Department of Labor and Employment approval and an Alien Employment Permit. Employers may assist with documentation, but applicants should confirm requirements with Philippine authorities. Relocation planning should include accommodation, insurance, transportation, tropical weather, and healthcare access.
