Working in Malaysia

Malaysia offers excellent hospitality opportunities, especially in Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and other coastal destinations. Hotels, resorts and restaurants regularly recruit chefs, front-office staff, service professionals, engineers and wellness workers. Penang is a culturally rich island known for George Town heritage, diverse Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisine, beaches and a relatively active urban lifestyle. Langkawi provides a quieter resort-focused environment with outdoor activities, island excursions and a lower-density lifestyle. Living costs vary, with accommodation and transport generally more affordable than in Singapore, although resort islands can be more expensive. Malaysian culture is multicultural, friendly and respectful, and English is widely used in hotels. Foreign employees normally require an employment pass arranged by the sponsoring employer before starting work. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, medical coverage, transport and contract terms before relocating.
