Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. The company is known for personalized service, high accommodation standards, destination dining, wellness facilities, and strong guest-care values. Shangri-La properties typically offer structured operational training, multicultural workplaces, employee meals, service-charge opportunities, and career development across departments. In Indonesia, the group has operated luxury properties serving both international travelers and domestic guests. Culinary employees are expected to maintain consistent food quality, follow strict hygiene procedures, collaborate across kitchen sections, and deliver the refined service associated with the Shangri-La brand.
Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands, particularly in hotels, restaurants, villas, and tourism businesses. Bali is the most internationally connected destination and provides the broadest range of culinary and hotel jobs, while Jakarta offers major city-hotel opportunities. Local culture values respect, community, family, and religious traditions; modest behavior and awareness of ceremonies are important. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities, with generally warm weather and varied living costs. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and stay permits before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with documentation, accommodation, transport, meals, or relocation, but benefits differ. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, housing, insurance, flights, contract terms, and permit responsibility before accepting an offer.
