This internship is suited to an undergraduate or recent graduate interested in operations, manufacturing, business, engineering, supply chain, or a related discipline. The candidate is expected to support daily operational activities, collect and analyze information, prepare reports, coordinate with teams, and help improve processes, productivity, and workplace efficiency. Strong communication, teamwork, organization, problem-solving, and basic computer skills are important. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, data analysis, or Lean and continuous-improvement methods would be useful. MAS Holdings will likely expect the intern to learn quickly, follow company procedures, maintain confidentiality, take ownership of assigned tasks, and work professionally in a fast-paced apparel and manufacturing environment.
MAS Holdings is one of South Asia’s leading apparel and textile manufacturers, headquartered in Sri Lanka. The group works with major international fashion, sportswear, and lifestyle brands, providing services that include product design, development, manufacturing, supply chain management, and innovation. MAS is known for its focus on ethical production, sustainability, technology, and employee development. Its operations extend across Sri Lanka and several international markets, with facilities covering apparel, intimate wear, performance wear, wearable technology, and textile manufacturing. The company employs a large workforce and offers opportunities across production, engineering, operations, quality, merchandising, finance, human resources, and other business functions. An operations intern can gain practical exposure to large-scale manufacturing, cross-functional teamwork, performance monitoring, and continuous-improvement practices within a globally connected organization.
Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel and manufacturing, IT and software, tourism, logistics, finance, engineering, healthcare, and business services. Colombo and nearby industrial zones provide the widest range of professional roles, while Kandy, Galle, and other cities offer opportunities in tourism, education, and regional industries. The country has a warm tropical climate, welcoming communities, diverse religions, and rich cultural traditions. Living costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although Colombo is more expensive than smaller towns. Public transport is affordable, but traffic can be heavy. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored residence or employment visa before working; tourist visas do not permit employment. Candidates should confirm current rules with the Sri Lankan Department of Immigration and Emigration or their employer. Relocating employees should arrange health insurance, suitable accommodation, and documentation before arrival.
