Candidates are expected to build trusted relationships, work collaboratively across the organisation, support fair and consistent processes, and contribute to a positive workplace culture. About the employer

Healthcare New Zealand is a major provider of health and wellbeing services across New Zealand. The organisation supports people in their homes and communities through services such as home support, disability assistance, mental health and rehabilitation programmes, and other community-based care. Its workforce includes healthcare professionals, support workers, coordinators and corporate specialists who work together to help people live independently and participate fully in their communities. Because services are delivered nationwide and often involve vulnerable people, the organisation places importance on safety, quality, cultural responsiveness, employment standards and strong relationships with employees, families, funders and healthcare partners. An Employment Relations Specialist would support leaders and staff across this broad workforce, helping ensure employment practices are fair, legally sound and aligned with the organisation’s values and operational needs.

Working in New Zealand

New Zealand offers opportunities in healthcare, aged care, disability support, technology, engineering, construction, education and professional services. The North Island, especially Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton, has the largest employment markets, while Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and regional centres in the South Island also provide good opportunities, particularly in health, tourism and trades. The culture is generally friendly, informal and diverse, with strong respect for work-life balance, inclusion and the Māori concept of manaakitanga, or caring for others. Lifestyle highlights include beaches, mountains, outdoor sports and relatively clean, safe communities, although housing and transport costs can be high in major cities. Skilled overseas workers commonly need an Accredited Employer Work Visa, supported by an approved employer, while residence pathways may be available for eligible skilled roles. Check current Immigration New Zealand requirements before planning relocation.
