The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Abu Dhabi is a coastal destination with excellent opportunities in hotels, restaurants, aviation, retail, tourism, events, finance and technology. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a large international community; modest dress and respectful behavior are appreciated, especially during Ramadan. Abu Dhabi offers modern housing, beaches, malls, museums, desert excursions and a generally safe, convenient lifestyle. Employers normally sponsor a work visa, residence permit, medical examination and Emirates ID after a formal offer. Confirm that the contract covers accommodation, transport, meals, health insurance, flights and annual leave. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent and deposits, arrange document attestation where required and check local employment regulations. English is widely used, while Arabic is the official language. Public transport is improving, although many residents use taxis or cars.
