Working in Australia

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cafés and tourism businesses, particularly in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and regional destinations. Tasmania is known for its relaxed lifestyle, dramatic landscapes, cool climate, local food and strong arts and cultural scene. Hobart provides a smaller-city atmosphere, good access to nature and a growing tourism industry, although rental availability and prices can be challenging. International workers generally need a suitable visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, temporary skilled visa or employer-sponsored arrangement; conditions and eligibility depend on nationality, age, occupation and qualifications. New arrivals should arrange a tax file number, bank account, Australian mobile service and appropriate health insurance. Employers may require evidence of work rights, food-safety awareness and responsible workplace conduct.
