Working in Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands offer opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, construction, marine services, healthcare and professional services. Grand Cayman has a multicultural community, English-speaking workplaces and a relaxed but relatively affluent lifestyle, with beaches, diving, boating, restaurants and outdoor activities. Living costs are high, particularly for accommodation, groceries and transportation, so applicants should confirm housing and benefits before relocating. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit, and employers must follow local rules giving preference to suitably qualified Caymanians. Work permits are tied to the sponsoring job and require approval before employment begins. Relocation usually involves arranging accommodation, health insurance, banking, transportation and immigration documentation. The climate is tropical, with hot humid summers and a hurricane season, while public transport is limited outside main areas.
