Working in Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands offer opportunities in tourism, hospitality, restaurants, marine activities, finance, construction, retail, healthcare and property services. Caymanian culture combines Caribbean traditions with strong international influences, and the islands are known for friendly communities, excellent beaches, water sports and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Grand Cayman has modern amenities, reliable services and a broad expatriate population, although housing, groceries and transport can be expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; the employer generally handles the application, and approval is subject to immigration requirements and labour-market rules. Relocating employees should confirm accommodation, medical insurance, flights, work-permit fees and contract terms before accepting an offer. A valid passport, police clearance, medical checks and proof of qualifications may be required. Weather is warm year-round, with a wetter hurricane season, so outdoor workers should expect heat and humidity.
