Working in Australia

Australia offers strong hospitality opportunities in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, the Gold Coast and regional tourism areas. Baristas, restaurant attendants, chefs and hotel service staff are frequently sought, although competition can be strong and employers usually value Australian experience, recognised food-safety knowledge and good English. Australian workplace culture is generally informal, multicultural and team-focused, with emphasis on punctuality, workplace safety and customer service. Melbourne provides excellent cafés, restaurants, arts, sport and public transport, but living costs—especially rent—can be high. Eligible visitors may use a Working Holiday visa, while skilled or employer-sponsored options may apply to suitable candidates; visa rules and work rights should be checked with the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Arrange accommodation, tax registration, healthcare cover and sufficient savings before relocating.
