The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, service standards, guest satisfaction, staff scheduling, inventory control, cost management, and compliance with food safety procedures. Candidates should have relevant experience in hotel or upscale restaurant management, strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, and confident leadership and communication skills. English proficiency is generally expected; Thai language ability and experience in an international resort are advantageous. The successful candidate will be guest-focused, commercially aware, organized, and comfortable coaching a multicultural team. They will be expected to maintain Marriott and Renaissance service standards, resolve guest concerns professionally, support revenue and quality targets, and work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa is an upscale beachfront resort on Koh Samui, Thailand, operated under the Renaissance Hotels brand by Marriott International. The property combines contemporary Thai-inspired design with resort amenities, including restaurants and bars, swimming pools, spa facilities, meeting spaces, and direct access to the coast. Renaissance Hotels focuses on creating distinctive, locally inspired experiences for leisure and business travelers, while Marriott provides international operating standards, training, career development, and employee benefits that vary by property and employment terms. As a resort employer, Renaissance Koh Samui typically supports a diverse team serving international guests throughout the year. Restaurant managers play an important role in delivering memorable dining experiences, developing colleagues, controlling operating costs, and representing the property's service culture.
Koh Samui offers hospitality opportunities in resorts, hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, wellness businesses, tours, and marine activities, with stronger hiring periods during peak travel seasons. The island has a relaxed, international atmosphere while retaining Southern Thai traditions, Buddhist customs, local markets, and a strong seafood culture. Lifestyle benefits include beaches, boating, diving, wellness activities, island trips, and a comparatively slower pace than Bangkok, although traffic, monsoon weather, and seasonal tourism can affect daily life. Foreign nationals normally need a Thai employer to support a Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, accommodation, insurance, tax, and relocation assistance before accepting an offer. Samui has an airport, hospitals, supermarkets, international schools, and regular ferry connections, but living costs can be higher in tourist areas.
