Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, offering strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology and construction. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have the largest international job markets, while Al Ain provides a quieter, family-oriented lifestyle with lower congestion and access to parks, mountains and cultural attractions. UAE society blends Emirati traditions with a large expatriate community. Arabic is the national language, while English is widely used at work. Summers are extremely hot; winters are pleasant and suitable for outdoor activities. Employers normally arrange employment visas, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and, in some cases, accommodation or transport. UAE nationals generally do not require an employment visa and may be hired through Emiratisation programmes. Candidates should confirm salary, benefits, housing, transport, insurance and probation terms before relocating. Public conduct, dress and local laws should be respected.
