The Assistant Director of Sales supports the Director of Sales in achieving room, group, catering and overall revenue targets for the resort. Requirements typically include a degree or diploma in hospitality, business or a related field, several years of hotel sales experience, strong knowledge of luxury resort markets, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. The successful candidate is expected to develop corporate, leisure and event accounts, maintain relationships with travel partners, prepare sales plans and forecasts, monitor market trends, and represent the resort professionally. Experience with Marriott systems, international clientele and pre-opening operations would be advantageous. Fluency in English and Indonesian, commercial awareness, leadership ability and willingness to travel for sales activities are also likely to be expected.
TA'AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo is a high-end Marriott International property located in Labuan Bajo, on the island of Flores, Indonesia. The resort is designed to offer an upscale gateway to Komodo National Park, combining luxury accommodation, locally inspired hospitality, wellness facilities, dining and curated island and marine experiences. As part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, it is expected to appeal to international leisure travelers, destination events, affluent domestic guests and adventure-oriented visitors. The property’s sales team plays an important role in building demand for rooms, meetings, celebrations, group travel and resort experiences. Working there would likely involve a strong focus on pre-opening or growth initiatives, destination marketing, luxury standards and collaboration with travel advisors, corporate clients and tourism partners.
Labuan Bajo is a small coastal town on Flores and the main base for visiting Komodo National Park, with nearby islands such as Komodo, Rinca, Padar and Seraya. Job opportunities are concentrated in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, dive and boat operations, tourism, transport, wellness and hospitality management. The lifestyle is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with warm weather, spectacular beaches, strong local communities and a growing international visitor scene. Flores culture is diverse and predominantly Christian, while Indonesian customs and respectful dress remain important. Housing, schools and international shopping are more limited than in Bali, and costs can rise in the busy season. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship, an appropriate work KITAS and, where applicable, a work permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm benefits, accommodation, transport, medical cover and relocation support before accepting an offer.
