The Director of Operations leads the hotel’s day-to-day operations across rooms, food and beverage, guest services, housekeeping, engineering and other operational departments. The role requires substantial luxury or upscale hotel management experience, strong financial and commercial understanding, excellent leadership skills, and familiarity with Marriott standards and systems. Candidates should be service-focused, organized, confident in decision-making and able to improve guest satisfaction, employee engagement and operating results. Fluency in English is generally expected, while Indonesian language skills and local hospitality experience are valuable. The successful candidate will coordinate department heads, manage budgets and performance targets, maintain safety and quality standards, resolve guest concerns and represent Four Points by Sheraton professionally within the Bintan resort community.
Four Points by Sheraton is Marriott International’s approachable, globally recognized hotel brand, designed for travelers who value stylish comfort, genuine service and practical amenities. Four Points by Sheraton Bintan Lagoi Bay is located in the Lagoi resort area of Bintan Island, Indonesia, a popular destination known for beaches, nature and easy access from Singapore. The property combines international Marriott operating standards with a relaxed island setting and typically serves leisure travelers, families, groups, corporate guests and event visitors. Marriott International operates thousands of hotels and resorts worldwide under a broad portfolio of brands. Employees generally benefit from structured training, global career mobility, hospitality resources and access to Marriott’s service culture. The Bintan operation also requires sensitivity to local communities, Indonesian employment practices and the needs of a resort environment.
Bintan is one of Indonesia’s most accessible resort islands, located in the Riau Islands and connected to Singapore by ferry. Employment opportunities are concentrated in resorts, hotels, restaurants, events, recreation, transport, retail and marine tourism. The culture blends Malay and Indonesian traditions, with a generally friendly, community-oriented lifestyle. Outside work, residents enjoy beaches, mangroves, golf, seafood, water activities and a quieter pace than Jakarta or Bali. Costs can be moderate, although imported goods and resort-area accommodation may be expensive. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship, an approved work permit and the appropriate Indonesian limited-stay visa or KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with immigration, accommodation, meals, transport and flights, but these benefits should be confirmed in writing. Learning basic Indonesian and respecting local customs will make relocation and daily life easier.
