The Human Resources Assistant supports daily HR operations at Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa, including employee records, onboarding, recruitment coordination, attendance, leave administration, training support and staff communication. Candidates should ideally have a diploma or degree in Human Resources, business administration or a related field, along with previous administrative or hospitality experience. Strong organization, confidentiality, computer literacy and communication skills are expected. The successful candidate should be approachable, detail-oriented, culturally sensitive and able to work effectively with a diverse resort workforce. Flexibility, discretion, a service-minded attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced island environment are important.
Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa is a Marriott International property located on Lhaviyani Atoll in the Maldives. The resort combines contemporary European-inspired design with a tropical island setting, offering guest rooms and villas, restaurants, wellness facilities, water activities and sustainable experiences. Le Méridien is known for its focus on culture, discovery, design and relaxed modern hospitality. As part of Marriott International, the resort operates within a global hotel network that provides structured standards, training and career development opportunities. Employees work in an international environment serving guests from around the world, while supporting the resort’s commitment to warm service, environmental responsibility and authentic Maldivian experiences.
The Maldives offers employment opportunities mainly in luxury resorts, hotels, tourism, marine activities, food and beverage, engineering, housekeeping, finance and human resources. Resort jobs commonly include staff accommodation, meals, transportation and service charge, although benefits vary by employer. Life on a resort island is peaceful and community-focused, with a strong Islamic culture, warm hospitality and respect for local customs. Employees should expect humid weather, limited shopping and entertainment, and separation from major towns or family. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Approval and work permit; the company normally manages the process before or after arrival. A valid passport, medical checks and required documents are usually needed. Relocating employees should confirm contract terms, flights, medical coverage, internet access, leave, accommodation standards and visa responsibilities before accepting an offer.
