This manager-level role combines artificial intelligence engineering, data delivery and technology consulting. The successful candidate is expected to design, build and deploy practical AI and machine-learning solutions for clients, often working directly within client teams in a forward-deployed model. Requirements are likely to include strong Python and software-engineering skills, experience with machine learning, generative AI, cloud platforms, APIs and production deployment, plus the ability to lead technical workstreams. Candidates should be comfortable translating business problems into reliable AI products, communicating with senior stakeholders, mentoring engineers and managing delivery in a consulting environment. Experience with large language models, MLOps, data pipelines and responsible AI would be highly valuable.

About the employer

EY is a global professional-services organisation providing assurance, consulting, strategy, tax and transactions services. Its consulting business helps organisations improve performance, manage risk, modernise technology and respond to changes in regulation, markets and customer expectations. EY’s technology teams work across areas such as cloud, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, enterprise platforms and digital transformation. The company operates in more than 150 countries and serves clients ranging from major multinational corporations to public-sector bodies and growing businesses. In Ireland, EY has offices including Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Belfast, with teams supporting domestic and international clients. This role sits within EY’s UK and Ireland Technology Consulting practice, where AI and data specialists combine engineering capability with industry knowledge to create solutions that can be deployed in real business environments.

Working in Ireland

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, pharmaceuticals, financial services, medtech, cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence, with Dublin as the main employment hub and Cork, Galway and Limerick also providing substantial options. Irish workplaces are generally collaborative and informal, although professional communication and delivery standards are high. Lifestyle benefits include an active social scene, good access to coastal landscapes and countryside, and a relatively compact country that is easy to explore. Housing, particularly in Dublin, is expensive and competitive, so relocation planning should begin early. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without an employment permit. Non-EEA applicants normally need an employment permit, commonly a Critical Skills Employment Permit for eligible specialist technology roles, followed by immigration registration. A valid job offer, recognised qualifications or experience, salary thresholds and employer documentation may be required. Candidates should verify current rules with Ireland’s Department of Enterprise and Immigration Service before moving.
