About the employer

EY is a global professional services organisation providing assurance, tax, consulting and strategy and transactions services. Its teams help businesses, governments and institutions manage risk, improve performance and respond to technological and economic change. EY’s Technology Consulting practice supports clients with cloud adoption, cybersecurity, data, artificial intelligence, enterprise platforms, digital transformation and technology strategy. The firm operates across more than 150 countries and has a substantial presence in Ireland, including Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast-related UKI operations. EY invests heavily in responsible AI, analytics and emerging technologies, combining industry knowledge with engineering and advisory capabilities. Employees generally work on large, complex programmes for public and private-sector clients, with opportunities to lead teams, develop specialist expertise and work across international markets.

Working in Ireland

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, cloud, cybersecurity, financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical technology and AI, particularly around Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, informal and community-oriented, with English as the main working language and a lively social scene built around music, sport and hospitality. Dublin provides the broadest job market but has high rents and a competitive housing supply; Cork and Galway can offer a calmer lifestyle, though with fewer senior roles. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa. Other nationals normally need an employment permit, commonly a Critical Skills Employment Permit for eligible technology positions, followed by immigration registration. Candidates should secure a job offer, verify permit eligibility and budget carefully for accommodation, healthcare, transport and relocation costs.
