Working in Japan

Japan offers hospitality, tourism, restaurant, cleaning, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare opportunities, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido, Okinawa, and major resort areas. Japanese workplaces generally value punctuality, politeness, teamwork, cleanliness, and careful attention to detail. Life in Tokyo is convenient and highly connected, but accommodation and commuting can be expensive; regional cities may offer a slower pace and lower living costs. Foreign workers usually need an appropriate work visa sponsored by an employer, and eligibility depends on the role, qualifications, nationality, and contract. Housekeeping positions may use specified skilled-worker routes when requirements are met, while some employers hire candidates already holding work rights in Japan. Applicants should confirm visa sponsorship, salary, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and contract conditions before relocating. Learning basic Japanese is strongly recommended for daily life and workplace communication.
