This Manager/Senior Manager role focuses on helping manufacturing clients design, implement and improve Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Requirements typically include significant experience in technology consulting, MES platforms, manufacturing operations, digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0, along with strong knowledge of systems integration, solution delivery and business process improvement. Candidates should be comfortable leading client engagements, managing project teams, developing proposals and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders. Experience with platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell, SAP Manufacturing or similar is advantageous. The role also requires commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, structured problem-solving and the ability to travel when needed. EY expects candidates to demonstrate leadership, collaboration, delivery ownership and the ability to support business development across the UK and Ireland.
EY is a global professional services organisation providing assurance, consulting, strategy, tax and transaction services. Its technology consulting practice helps organisations modernise operations, improve customer and employee experiences, manage risk and adopt emerging technologies. In Ireland, EY works with clients across financial services, manufacturing, government, healthcare, consumer products and other major sectors. The firm has a significant presence in Dublin and other Irish locations, with international teams supporting large transformation programmes. EY promotes a collaborative, inclusive working environment and offers career development through formal learning, coaching and exposure to multinational clients. This MES position sits within technology consulting and is connected to EY’s work helping manufacturers improve production processes, integrate operational and enterprise systems, and use data more effectively. Benefits commonly include pension contributions, health-related supports, flexible working arrangements, annual leave and professional development opportunities.
Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, financial services, manufacturing and cybersecurity. Dublin is the main employment hub, while Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford also have active technology and industrial sectors. Irish workplace culture is generally friendly, collaborative and relatively informal, although professional services can involve demanding deadlines and client travel. The lifestyle combines vibrant cities, strong community traditions, music, sport and easy access to coast, countryside and historic sites. Ireland has a mild, changeable climate and a high cost of housing, particularly in Dublin, so relocation planning is important. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals can work without an employment visa. Non-EEA candidates generally need an employment permit and may require an entry visa, depending on nationality. Critical Skills and General Employment Permits may apply to eligible technology and consulting roles. Candidates should confirm permit eligibility, housing costs and tax obligations before moving.
