Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a highly international lifestyle, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, finance, technology, and construction provide wide-ranging employment opportunities. The culture blends Emirati traditions with communities from around the world, so respectful dress, discretion, and awareness of local customs are important. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent infrastructure, beaches, shopping, dining, and entertainment, although summer temperatures are extremely high and living costs can be significant. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and work permits. Relocating candidates should confirm housing, health insurance, flights, gratuity, and schooling provisions in the contract. A passport, authenticated qualifications, police clearance, and medical documentation may be required. English is widely used, while Arabic can be an advantage.
