Working in Aruba

Aruba offers employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, casinos, tourism, retail, construction, marine activities, healthcare, and professional services. The island has a multicultural population, with Papiamento, Dutch, English, and Spanish commonly spoken. Life is generally relaxed and outdoor-oriented, with warm weather, beaches, water sports, dining, and a strong tourism economy. Housing can be expensive and limited, particularly near Palm Beach and Oranjestad, so applicants should confirm accommodation and relocation support before accepting an offer. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work and residence permit; working without authorization is not permitted. Employers usually guide successful candidates through immigration procedures, but approval is not automatic and may take time. A valid passport, employment contract, health or police documentation, and other official paperwork may be required. Transport is commonly by car or bus, and budgeting carefully for rent, utilities, insurance, and daily expenses is important.
