About the employer

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is a beachfront luxury resort located on Furanafushi Island in North Malé Atoll, a short speedboat journey from Velana International Airport. It operates under the Sheraton brand, part of Marriott International, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies. The resort offers guest rooms, villas, restaurants, bars, spa facilities, recreational activities, and meeting services for leisure and business travelers. Its workplace combines international service standards with the close-knit lifestyle typical of a private island resort. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment and support guests throughout their stay, from arrival and transportation to dining, recreation, and departure. Marriott promotes guest service, teamwork, professional development, inclusion, and responsible hospitality across its properties.

Working in Maldives

The Maldives offers strong employment opportunities in resorts, hotels, restaurants, diving, watersports, housekeeping, engineering, finance, and guest services. Resort work is usually based on private islands, where accommodation, meals, uniforms, transport, and sometimes medical coverage are provided. Life is peaceful and community-focused, with beaches, snorkeling, fishing, water sports, and a relaxed tropical climate. Maldivian culture is shaped by Islam, island traditions, seafood, and strong family values; modest clothing and respect for local customs are important, especially on inhabited islands. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and employment approval. A tourist visa does not allow employment. The employer normally arranges documentation, airport transfer, accommodation, and relocation details, but candidates should confirm these benefits in writing. Staff may live in shared housing and travel to Malé on days off, depending on the resort’s location and schedule.
