The Engineer II supports the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of hotel facilities, guest rooms, equipment, and mechanical systems. Typical requirements include practical experience in hotel engineering, building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related trades; the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment; and a basic understanding of safety procedures. Technical training, trade certification, and previous resort or hospitality experience are advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to respond promptly to maintenance requests, complete preventive-maintenance tasks, maintain accurate records, follow Marriott and Ritz-Carlton standards, and work professionally with guests and colleagues. Flexibility for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs is generally required.
The Ritz-Carlton Aruba is a luxury beachfront resort operating under The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, part of Marriott International. Located on Palm Beach, the resort is known for personalized service, elegant accommodations, restaurants, spa facilities, leisure amenities, and high standards of guest care. Ritz-Carlton properties emphasize refined hospitality, attention to detail, employee professionalism, and memorable guest experiences. As a Marriott organization, the resort may provide access to structured training, global service standards, internal career development, and employee travel benefits, subject to local employment terms. Engineering team members play an important behind-the-scenes role by keeping guest rooms, public spaces, utilities, and operational equipment safe, comfortable, and functional. Employment conditions, benefits, and compensation are determined by the local resort and applicable Aruban regulations.
Aruba offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, watersports, transportation, maintenance, and other service industries. The island has a multicultural population, with Papiamento and Dutch as official languages and English and Spanish widely spoken. Life is sunny, relaxed, and social, with beaches, outdoor activities, nightlife, and a strong tourism economy. Housing can be expensive and competitive, particularly near Palm Beach and Oranjestad, so candidates should confirm accommodation and transport arrangements before relocating. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work and residence permit, and should not begin employment until authorization is approved. Employers commonly assist with permit applications, but requirements and processing times vary. Applicants should verify contracts, salary, service charges, insurance, taxes, working hours, and relocation support directly with the resort and Aruba’s relevant authorities.
