Working in Aruba

Aruba offers employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, transportation, water sports, construction, healthcare, and professional services. The island has a multicultural population, and English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamento are commonly heard; English is widely used in tourism. Life is sunny, relaxed, and outdoor-oriented, with beaches, snorkeling, diving, nightlife, and strong local food traditions. Housing can be expensive and limited, especially near Palm Beach and Oranjestad, so relocation planning is important. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work and residence permit before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and contract, and working on a tourist stay is not permitted. Employers may provide assistance, but candidates should confirm housing, transportation, insurance, meals, and relocation costs before accepting an offer. Aruba uses the Aruban florin, while US dollars are widely accepted.
