The Reservations Agent manages guest reservations, amendments, cancellations and enquiries by telephone, email and booking systems. The role requires strong spoken and written English, a service-oriented attitude, accurate computer and administrative skills, and preferably experience in hotel reservations, front office or customer service. Familiarity with Opera or another property-management system is helpful. The successful candidate is expected to communicate clearly, protect guest and company information, recommend suitable room types and packages, support occupancy and revenue goals, and coordinate effectively with Front Office, Sales and Housekeeping. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally required. Attention to detail, confidence handling payments and policies, and a welcoming professional manner are essential.
Hotel Stripes Singapore, part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, is a boutique hotel in the historic Kampong Glam and Jalan Sultan area. The property combines Singapore heritage with contemporary design, offering individually styled accommodation, dining and rooftop leisure experiences. Autograph Collection hotels are known for distinctive character rather than a standardised look, while Marriott provides the operational resources, global reservations network and career opportunities of an international hospitality group. The hotel serves leisure travellers, business guests and visitors seeking a more local, neighbourhood-focused stay. Team members are expected to deliver personable service, understand the property’s unique identity and work collaboratively across departments. Its central location provides convenient access to cultural districts, restaurants, shopping areas and public transport, making it a practical workplace for hospitality professionals who enjoy a lively urban environment.
Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, finance and international business. Hospitality work is available across luxury hotels, independent properties and major global brands, although employers often expect relevant experience, English communication skills and flexibility for shift work. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle is safe and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, varied food and many green spaces, though housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation; approval is handled through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Before relocating, secure a written offer, confirm pass eligibility, budget for accommodation and insurance, and check tax and medical requirements.
