Working in United Kingdom

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in healthcare, social care, technology, education, engineering, finance and hospitality. Its culture combines historic traditions with diverse, multicultural cities, while smaller towns and coastal areas provide a quieter lifestyle. Public transport is generally strong, although rural and island communities may require a car. Housing costs vary considerably: London and southern England are expensive, while northern regions, Wales and Scotland are often more affordable. The UK has four nations, each with distinctive landscapes, food and local customs. International applicants should check whether their occupation and employer qualify for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker routes; eligibility, salary thresholds and shortage rules change regularly. A job offer, approved sponsor and English-language evidence may be required. New arrivals should budget for deposits, transport, immigration fees and healthcare-related registration where applicable.
