Working in Thailand

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major tourism hub, with job opportunities in hotels, restaurants, wellness, travel services, diving, retail, and events. The north is quieter and more resort-focused, while areas such as Patong, Kata, and Phuket Town offer busier nightlife, dining, and local life. Thai culture values politeness, respect, hospitality, and appropriate dress at temples and community places. The lifestyle is generally warm and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, island trips, markets, gyms, and an international food scene, although traffic and seasonal weather can be challenging. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and Thai work permit before legally working; requirements depend on nationality and role. Employers may assist with paperwork, accommodation, meals, health insurance, or transport, but benefits vary. Relocation planning should include housing, transport, insurance, and rainy-season costs.
