Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering extensive opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, restaurants, finance, construction, and technology. The country is multicultural, modern, and generally safe, with Arabic and English widely used in daily and professional life. Dubai provides a fast-paced lifestyle, excellent public transport, beaches, shopping, international dining, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Employers commonly sponsor work visas for overseas hires, arrange medical testing and residency processing, and may provide accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, and annual flights. Employees should not work on a tourist visa and should confirm the written contract, benefits, probation terms, and recruitment costs before relocating. Respect for local laws, Islamic traditions, modest public behavior, and workplace etiquette is important.
