Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist and community mental health, learning disability, and drug and alcohol services across Surrey and parts of North East Hampshire. The Trust supports children, young people, adults and older people through hospitals, community teams, crisis services and specialist clinics. Its work focuses on recovery, prevention, patient safety, inclusion and partnership with families, carers and local organisations. Brook House is part of the Trust’s inpatient mental health services. Employees generally work within multidisciplinary teams that include nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, support workers and social care professionals. As an NHS Foundation Trust, Surrey and Borders Partnership offers nationally recognised employment benefits, structured professional development, pension provision and access to NHS learning resources. Staff are expected to uphold dignity, compassion, equality, confidentiality and evidence-based practice in all aspects of patient care.
The United Kingdom offers substantial opportunities for registered nurses, particularly in the NHS, mental health, community care and elderly care. Nursing is a respected profession, and workplaces are generally diverse, team-based and guided by clear professional standards. Life varies from busy cities to quieter coastal and rural communities, with good public services, cultural attractions, parks and transport links. Salaries are paid monthly, although housing and travel costs can be high in parts of Surrey and southern England. Overseas nurses normally need an eligible qualification, NMC registration, English-language evidence and, where applicable, a Health and Care Worker visa sponsored by an approved employer. Relocation planning should cover accommodation, right-to-work documents, registration checks, banking, tax and healthcare arrangements. The UK has four nations—England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland—with distinct local cultures and some different public services.
