Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but a federation of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering the largest number of hospitality jobs. Opportunities are available in hotels, restaurants, catering, events, tourism and airport services. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress, respect for Islam and awareness of Ramadan customs are important. Abu Dhabi offers a modern, safe lifestyle, beaches, shopping, desert activities and excellent public services, though summers are extremely hot. Most expatriates need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange entry permits, medical testing, Emirates ID and residency processing. Review the employment contract carefully for salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, leave and flight benefits. Bring attested qualifications where requested and budget for initial expenses before your first salary.
