Working in Australia

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and tourism, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional destinations. Workplace culture is generally practical, friendly and team-oriented, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, inclusion and customer service. Melbourne provides excellent dining, arts, sport and public transport, but accommodation costs can be high. Australia has varied lifestyles, from busy city living to coastal and regional communities. Foreign applicants normally need a visa allowing work, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another eligible temporary visa; conditions and age limits vary by nationality. Before relocating, check official Department of Home Affairs requirements, tax and superannuation obligations, and whether qualifications such as Responsible Service of Alcohol certification are needed. Secure accommodation, arrange health insurance where appropriate and budget for transport and living expenses.
