Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Clark and other tourism destinations. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise-related businesses and travel companies regularly seek staff in guest services, culinary work, housekeeping, events and management. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented and welcoming, with English widely used in business and tourism. Lifestyle varies from fast-paced urban living in Manila to a more relaxed coastal environment on islands such as Cebu, Palawan and Boracay. Living costs depend greatly on location; Manila offers more career options but can be congested, while resort areas may provide staff accommodation. Foreign nationals usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa before starting employment. Requirements can include an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) work visa, with procedures handled through Philippine authorities and the employer. Research housing, healthcare, transport, taxes and local employment rules before relocating.
