Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf country rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail and service-sector jobs. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respectful public behaviour are expected, while Dubai offers beaches, restaurants, shopping, nightlife and desert activities. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are central to daily life. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges medical tests, Emirates ID processing and work authorization. Confirm whether accommodation, transport, meals, insurance and flights are included before accepting an offer. Relocating is generally straightforward for single professionals, although rents, school fees and some services can be expensive.
