Working in Maldives

The Maldives offers hospitality opportunities in resorts, spas, restaurants, diving, watersports, housekeeping, engineering and guest services. Resort islands provide a very different lifestyle from Malé: life is peaceful, close to nature and centered around the workplace, with beaches, coral reefs and water activities nearby. Maldivian culture is welcoming and strongly influenced by Islam, so modest clothing and respect for local customs are important, especially when visiting inhabited islands. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work visa and must complete the required medical checks and immigration formalities; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers usually arrange accommodation, meals, airport transfers and work permits, but candidates should confirm all benefits in writing. Relocation involves international travel, limited shopping and fewer off-duty choices, while Malé provides more urban services during scheduled leave.
