Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers extensive coastal living, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality creates opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, aviation, tourism, and luxury retail, with international workers forming a large part of the workforce. The culture blends Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest public dress, respect for local customs, and awareness of Ramadan etiquette are important. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, dining, nightlife, desert activities, and excellent public transport, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers commonly arrange medical testing, Emirates ID processing, health insurance, and sometimes accommodation or transport. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary, service charge, working hours, accommodation, leave, airfare, and visa responsibilities in the written offer. English is widely used, while Arabic and Russian can improve guest-service opportunities.
