Bahrain is a compact Gulf archipelago and a popular destination for hospitality, retail, finance, construction, aviation and service-sector jobs. Manama offers modern malls, restaurants, cafés, museums and a lively expatriate community, while beaches, historic sites and desert areas provide opportunities for weekend outings. The culture blends Arab traditions with a relatively relaxed, international lifestyle; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Living costs are generally lower than in Dubai or Doha, although rent varies considerably by area and accommodation type. Employers usually arrange a work permit and residence visa after hiring, and employees should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm whether the package includes housing, transport, meals, medical insurance, flights and gratuity before accepting an offer. Bahrain is hot for much of the year, so air conditioning and suitable summer clothing are essential.
