About the employer

Working in United Kingdom

The United Kingdom offers extensive opportunities for registered nurses, particularly in mental health, community care, acute hospitals, learning disabilities and older-person services. NHS and independent employers commonly recruit internationally, although applicants must meet Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and English-language requirements. The UK has a diverse culture, strong public services and excellent transport links, while living costs vary considerably; Surrey is attractive but generally more expensive than northern England, Wales or Scotland. Nurses sponsored by an eligible employer may qualify for the Health and Care Worker visa, subject to salary, registration and sponsorship rules. Before relocating, candidates should budget for housing deposits, transport and initial living expenses, check school and healthcare arrangements, and confirm eligibility with the employer and official UK government and NMC guidance. The country offers varied lifestyles, from busy urban areas to rural communities and coastal locations.
