Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers coastal city living, beaches and easy access to islands such as Palm Jumeirah and Yas Island. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology and construction provide strong employment opportunities, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. UAE culture blends Arab traditions with a highly international population; respectful dress, considerate behaviour and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle options range from luxury dining and shopping to desert trips, water sports and multicultural entertainment. Employers normally sponsor work visas for eligible employees, arrange medical testing and issue residency documentation. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, leave and service charges in writing before accepting an offer. Dubai is convenient and cosmopolitan, though rent and daily expenses can be high. Relocating employees should budget for housing deposits, flights and initial living costs.
