Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with opportunities in aviation, logistics, finance, technology, healthcare, hospitality, education and professional services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its languages, festivals, food and neighbourhoods. Life is generally safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, healthcare and digital services. Housing and daily expenses can be high, especially in central areas, although public transport and local food are relatively affordable. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is commonly used for eligible professional and managerial roles, subject to salary and qualification requirements. Families may require dependent passes. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, insurance and tax registration, and confirm pass eligibility before relocating. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
