About the employer

Grab is a Southeast Asian technology company founded in 2012 and headquartered in Singapore. It operates a superapp offering ride-hailing, food delivery, parcel delivery, digital payments, financial services, and other everyday consumer and business solutions. Grab serves users, driver-partners, merchant-partners, and enterprise customers across countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Indonesia is one of its largest and most important markets, with operations spanning major cities and a large ecosystem of drivers and merchants. The company uses technology, data science, and digital platforms to improve mobility, commerce, and financial inclusion. Working at Grab generally involves a fast-moving, regional environment where employees collaborate across functions, manage large-scale products, and balance commercial growth with safety, regulatory, and customer experience priorities.

Working in Indonesia

For this role, Jakarta on Java is the most likely base. Java offers Indonesia’s widest range of technology, finance, consulting, logistics, and multinational-company opportunities, while Bali is stronger in tourism, hospitality, creative work, and remote-worker communities. Indonesia’s culture is diverse, community-oriented, and generally respectful of hierarchy, with Bahasa Indonesia widely used and English common in multinational workplaces. Jakarta provides extensive dining, shopping, public transport, and professional networking, but has heavy traffic and a fast-paced lifestyle. Bali and other islands offer a slower pace and easier access to nature, although specialized employment is more limited. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored work authorization and an appropriate KITAS; visa rules and permitted activities should be confirmed with Grab and Indonesian immigration. Relocation planning should cover housing, tax registration, health insurance, transport, and local cost-of-living differences.
