This summer analyst role supports Citi’s Corporate Banking team in Dublin, helping manage relationships with large corporate, financial institution and public-sector clients. Typical responsibilities include industry and company research, financial analysis, credit assessment, preparing client materials, supporting relationship managers and contributing to transaction or portfolio reviews. Candidates are generally expected to be pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, demonstrate strong academic performance, and show interest in corporate banking, finance and global markets. Strong analytical, numerical, communication and presentation skills are important, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. The successful candidate should be commercially aware, detail-oriented, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment. Eligibility to work in Ireland and availability for the full internship period may also be required.
Citi is a major global financial institution headquartered in New York, with operations across more than 100 countries and jurisdictions. The company provides banking and financial services to corporations, financial institutions, governments and individual customers. Its principal businesses include corporate and investment banking, commercial banking, markets, securities services, wealth management and consumer banking. Citi has a significant presence in Ireland, particularly in Dublin, where it supports international clients through banking, technology, operations, risk, compliance and financial-services activities. The firm is known for its global connectivity, diverse workforce and broad exposure to cross-border transactions. An internship in Citi’s Corporate Banking division can provide experience in relationship management, credit analysis, financial modelling, industry research and client coverage, while offering insight into how a large international bank serves multinational and institutional customers.
Ireland offers strong opportunities in banking, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, accounting, consulting and multinational business, with Dublin serving as the main employment hub. The country has a friendly, sociable culture, strong community traditions and a well-known music and pub scene. Lifestyle advantages include scenic coastlines, historic towns, outdoor activities and relatively easy travel around the island. Dublin can be expensive, especially for accommodation, so candidates should budget carefully and consider commuting options or nearby counties. Citizens of the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK generally have the right to live and work in Ireland without an employment permit. Non-EEA nationals usually need appropriate immigration permission and, where applicable, an employment permit; internship eligibility depends on the programme and immigration status. Candidates should confirm requirements with Citi and Ireland’s official immigration authorities before relocating. Public transport is strongest in Dublin, while a car may be useful outside major cities.
