The OMS FC & Lean Manager will lead operational management and continuous-improvement activities across DHL facilities in Japan. The role typically requires experience in logistics, warehouse or supply-chain operations, Lean management, and process optimization, with strong knowledge of methods such as Kaizen, 5S, value-stream mapping and root-cause analysis. Candidates should be comfortable using operational data, managing improvement projects, coaching teams and working with regional stakeholders. Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills are expected, along with business-level Japanese and English. The successful candidate will improve productivity, quality, safety and customer service while embedding a consistent operating-management system across facilities.
DHL is a global logistics and supply-chain company operating in more than 220 countries and territories. It provides express delivery, freight forwarding, contract logistics, e-commerce fulfillment and transportation services through businesses including DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Supply Chain and DHL eCommerce. The company is part of DHL Group, headquartered in Germany, and employs hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. In Japan, DHL supports international trade and domestic supply chains through courier, freight, warehousing and technology-enabled logistics solutions. Its culture places strong emphasis on customer service, operational quality, safety, sustainability and employee development. A role within DHL typically offers exposure to international processes, structured improvement programs and collaboration with regional and global teams.
Japan offers opportunities in logistics, manufacturing, technology, finance, tourism and international business, with particularly strong demand around Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and major port areas. Work culture values punctuality, teamwork, reliability and respect for hierarchy, while many companies are gradually adopting more flexible and international practices. Japan provides excellent public transport, safe cities, high-quality healthcare and varied lifestyles, from urban living to quieter coastal and mountain communities. Living costs are highest in Tokyo; housing and commuting should be researched carefully. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work visa, commonly an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa, and must meet education or professional-experience requirements. DHL normally supports immigration processes, but applicants should confirm sponsorship, relocation assistance and language expectations directly. Learning Japanese is highly beneficial for daily life and workplace integration.
