In Taiwan, Citi works with corporate and institutional clients and supports international commerce through banking and transaction services. Working in Taiwan

Taiwan offers strong opportunities in technology, semiconductors, manufacturing, finance, logistics, healthcare, education, and international trade. Taipei is the main financial and employment center, while Hsinchu, Taichung, and Kaohsiung also provide opportunities in technology and industry. The culture combines Chinese traditions, modern urban life, night markets, temples, convenience, and welcoming communities. Mandarin is useful for daily life, although English is common in multinational companies. Living costs are moderate compared with many major Asian cities, but Taipei housing can be expensive. Taiwan has excellent public transport, reliable healthcare, diverse food, mountains, beaches, and a generally safe lifestyle. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work permit; qualifying skilled workers may use the Employment Gold Card. Before relocating, arrange employment authorization, health insurance, accommodation, tax registration, and local banking. Learning basic Mandarin can significantly improve integration and career prospects.
