Working in Taiwan

Taiwan offers strong opportunities in technology, semiconductors, manufacturing, finance, healthcare, logistics and international business. Taipei is the main employment center, while Hsinchu and Taichung are important for technology and industrial roles. The culture combines Chinese traditions with a modern, welcoming and highly convenient urban lifestyle. Night markets, mountain trails, hot springs and excellent public transport make everyday life relatively easy, although housing in Taipei can be expensive. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and residence visa; highly skilled applicants may qualify for the Taiwan Employment Gold Card, which combines work and residence rights. Relocating usually requires proof of employment, passport documents, health checks and local registration. Learning basic Mandarin is valuable for daily life and relationship-based business, although English is commonly used in multinational companies. Taiwan is also well connected to the rest of Asia.
